Wondering where to start your Gin Journey??? Let us take you through the distillers of Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast with our Signature Chamber of Gin Tasting Paddle.
First up, we’re sipping the Citrus Gin from the Queenscliff Distillery. As the name suggests, she packs a citrusy punch! It’s a zingy combination of orange, lemon & native finger lime alongside classic botanicals, for a contemporary take on a classic London Dry. It also really shines when used in citrusy cocktails, like a Southside.
The Bellarine Distillery ‘Old Dodger’ gin is next. If you haven’t tried a ‘navy strength’ before, expect bold botanicals and a higher ABV, this one sitting at 57%. Salty like a coastal breeze, the addition of rosemary, tarragon and walnut provide savoury, herbaceous notes that pair wonderfully in a classic G&T.
Now for something dark and mysterious. The Anther Cherry gin is a favourite among the team, with subtly sweet, earthy cherry at the forefront. With distinct juniper and a little citrus kick, we recommend you try it neat first. The deep ruby hue reflects a labour of love, the team hand pitting over 10,000 Tasmanian cherries to go into each annual release.
Following up with a modern dry style, the flagship ‘Craft Gin’ from Flowstate Brewers & Distillers is abundant with both classic and native botanicals. Think coastal daisy, pepperberry and grapefruit for a hit of citrus, teamed with the unique addition of galaxy hops to add a subtle layer of complexity. A fantastic ‘everyday’ gin.
Adding a sweet finish is the Raspberry Gin Liqueur from Great Ocean Road Gin. A lush pink hue, fruity style and lower ABV make this one super approachable, especially if you are new to gin! The key is locally sourced, fresh raspberries and coastal botanicals. We also think it’s perfect just as it is!
So there you have it – a flavour adventure spanning from the tip of the peninsula, down to the rugged ocean coast, all enjoyed under one roof in the heart of Geelong. Come on down to try the Signature Chamber Gin Tasting paddle, or get into the spirit of the season with our Winter paddle.
Either way, we’d love to have you. See you at the bar soon.
